Today I am thankful for the musical genius of others. I can't even begin to count the amount of songs I can hear and be taken back to a specific time in my life. Music can get me out of bad moods, make or break the night, and even make me cry. I have pretty much zero musical talent. I taught myself to play very beginner's piano when I was a tween (before 'tween' was even a term - hah!), but that didn't go very far. I still choke up when I hear "Proud to be and American" because I remember being school during the (original) gulf war, tying ribbons around our big trees outside the class room. The entire

Florence + the Machine album. I just don't think life would be the same without a soundtrack!
